French Open 2012 :International Sheepdog Trial
The event will be held in Nogent-le-Roi . Nogent-le-Roi is a small medieval and very charming town , situated about 75 kilometres, from west of Paris . There will be 2 runs per day with a total of 6 runs in 2 different fields. The Caninature (the organizers) is a sheepdog training centre located in a typically French village 80 kilometres West of Paris. There will be 4 judges that are not only excellent judges but also outstanding handlers. Each of them will judge 1-2 runs and participate in the others . The judges are Ron Beecham (England) ,Pascal Bourdon (France) , Erik Holmgaard (Denmark) and Iolo Jones (Wales). The event will be held in Nogent-le-Roi . The sheeps on the event are: The morning run each day will be with Sabine's Solognote mixed with some young Hampshires if needed. The Solognote is a beautiful, intelligent and very old French breed. They are used to being worked by dogs but remain responsive and independant. The other run each day will be with the Soay , the flightiest sheep in France. This small and rare breed is extremely reactive. Too much pressure and you have them in every corner of the field; too little, and you and your dog will be on your own. They will be running on the field inside the castle park.
