French Open 2012 :International Sheepdog Trial

From the 5th to the 7th of october the Caninature club will organize the second edition of the FRENCH OPEN International Sheepdog Trial.

The event will be held in Nogent-le-Roi . Nogent-le-Roi is a small medieval and very charming town , situated about 75 kilometres, from west of Paris . There will be 2 runs per day with a total of 6 runs in 2 different fields. The Caninature (the organizers) is a sheepdog training centre located in a typically French village 80 kilometres West of Paris. There will be 4 judges that are not only excellent judges but also outstanding handlers. Each of them will judge 1-2 runs and participate in the others . The judges are Ron Beecham (England) ,Pascal Bourdon (France) , Erik Holmgaard (Denmark) and Iolo Jones (Wales). The event will be held in Nogent-le-Roi . Nogent-le-Roi is a small medieval and very charming town , situated about 75 kilometres, from west of Paris .There will be 2 runs per day with a total of 6 runs in 2 different fields. The sheeps on the event are: The morning run each day will be with Sabine's Solognote mixed with some young Hampshires if needed. The Solognote is a beautiful, intelligent and very old French breed. They are used to being worked by dogs but remain responsive and independant. The other run each day will be with the Soay , the flightiest sheep in France. This small and rare breed is extremely reactive. Too much pressure and you have them in every corner of the field; too little, and you and your dog will be on your own. They will be running on the field inside the castle park.
