INTERVIEW

First of all. A little presentation for the readers

My name is Patrik Szőcs. I am 17 years old and i live in Slovakia. My dog´s name is Begi. She is 5 years old and she is cross breed probably German Shepherd. Begi lived one year on the street and then she lived one year in an animal shelter. I adopted her on 2.1.2010. We started training the Dogfrisbee six months after adoption. This sport is great for Begi, since she really loves to retrieve. We are training the Dogfrisbee for about two years. So far we attended three international competition - in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. Our first achievement was in Hungary - we were first in discipline Freestyle. This year we are going to many competition in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, maybe Poland and Slovenia. We are really looking forward to upcoming season.

What has fascinated you in disc dog?

Everything fascinate me on dogfrispbee. It is nice and fast sport, which caught us at the heart. I love working with my dog and in this sport teamwork is very important. Also this sport is very physically demanding, because I must care about safety for my dog, so that she won´t be hurt, and keep her in good condition.

Do you play other sports besides discdog , even without dog?

In addition to Dogfrisbee I tried agility, flyball and we learn some tricks of dogdancing, but so far none of these has caught us at the heart like dogfrisbee did and therefore we try other sports only sometimes. Without dog I play tennis and hockeyball, but only recreational.

How do you train and how much?

We train every day, only for 1 or 2 days we have break. Of course we dont train every day some difficult tricks, and also if weather is bad, we stay at home. There are days, when is the train easy and we are training only throws, but there are days, when is the training diffucult and we are training elements as vault, over or flip.

How?? I made at home a list of tricks and before everty training I look at this list and I choose what we will training this day. When we are outside, first we warm up a little, limber up and after that i pull out my discs.

Your favorite part of the day?

My favourite part of day begins, when I go home. At the home Begi welcomes me, I drop school bag, packs up the bag discs, bottle of water, bowl for Begi and go out for atleast two hours. Of course we dont train all the time.

Do you have some hobbies?

Of course, my hobby is my dog, in addition my hobbies are tennis, hockeyball and traveling. Doesn´t matter by what I am travelling - If it is car, train, or whatever else, I just love to travel.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Difficult question, because there are lot of places, however I would love to go on journey around the world.

Favorite trick?

Favourite trick?? Difficult question, but I would say that slalom and back vault.

What music can you not leave home when you go to a competition ?

I like old hits, and therefore on competition we have mostly old songs.

Yours plans for the future?

I want to be better and better with begi, go to lots of competitions, because cempetitions are unforgettable experiences with lot of fun, great people and great dogs.
